February 16, 1999 COMMISSIONER TRISTANI NAMES YVONNE HUGHES CONFIDENTIAL ASSISTANT Commissioner Gloria Tristani has appointed Yvonne Hughes as Confidential Assistant. Ms. Hughes will be filling the vacancy left by Helen Hillegass, who recently accepted a position with the FCC's Office of Communications Business Opportunities. Ms. Hughes will be responsible for managing the office and scheduling the Commissioner's appointments and travel arrangements. Ms. Hughes comes to the Commission from the law firm of O'Melveny & Myers LLP, where she was a legal secretary for the past four and one-half years. Prior to her position at O'Melveny, Ms. Hughes was a legal secretary for five years at the firm of Eccleston & Wolf. She was born and raised in Iowa and received her B.S. in psychology from Iowa State University in 1988. Ms. Hughes currently resides in suburban Maryland and enjoys life's simple pleasures, such as reading, walking and keeping in touch with family and friends in the Midwest, via telephone of course. - FCC -
