July 21, 1998 MARK REGER NAMED FCC ASSOCIATE MANAGING DIRECTOR FOR FINANCIAL OPERATIONS AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER Mark Reger has been named the FCC's Associate Managing Director - Financial Operations and Chief Financial Officer, effective July 19, 1998. Commenting on Reger's appointment, FCC managing Director Andrew Fishel said, "I am delighted that Mark will be joining us at the FCC. His experience in the areas of financial accounting, collection system design and implementation and budget development and execution will serve him well as our Chief Financial Officer." Reger has served as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the Baltimore County Public Schools, responsible for the development of new accounting, payroll, inventory and purchasing systems as well as the budget and information technology functions of the 25th largest school system in the nation. For 19 years prior, he was employed by the State of Maryland in positions of increasing responsibility, culminating in his appointment as the Chief Deputy Treasurer in March of 1993. As the State's Deputy Treasurer, Reger was responsible for the modernization of the State's banking and financial management practices as well as the implementation of the electronic payment and collection systems. Reger has also served as Director, Chairman, Corporate Treasurer, and Pension System Treasurer of the State Employees Credit Union of Maryland, the 31st largest credit union in the nation. Reger holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Loyola College in Accounting. He was awarded a Henry Toll Fellowship by the Council of State Governments in 1994. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has been designated a Certified Financial Manager by the National Association of Government Accountants. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Maryland Public Financial Officers Association and was recently elected Treasurer of that organization. He lives near Annapolis with his wife, Jane, and two children. - FCC -
