July 13, 1998 JONATHAN V. COHEN TO LEAVE THE FCC Jonathan V. Cohen has announced that he will leave the Commission on July 17, 1998, to return to private law practice. Cohen joined the FCC staff in April 1993 as Special Assistant to the Chairman, coming from the White House, where he was Assistant Counsel to the President in the Office of Presidential Personnel. He also has served the Commission as Senior Counsel in the Office of Plans and Policy, Assistant Chief for Law of the Mass Media Bureau, and Associate Chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. Before entering government service, Cohen was an attorney in Washington, D.C., specializing in corporate, telecommunications and media matters. He received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of Finance and Commerce of the University of Pennsylvania in 1978, and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1982. Cohen will become a member of the law firm of Wilkinson, Barker, Knauer & Quinn, L.L.P., Washington, D.C., effective July 21, 1998. - FCC -
