In response to a petition filed by Charles Crawford (“Crawford”), the Commission has before it for consideration the Notice of Proposed Rule Making, 16 FCC Rcd 18100 (2001), seeking the allotment of Channel 280A at Camden, Alabama, as the community’s second FM broadcast service. No expressions of interest were filed in response to the Notice stating an intent to file an application for a channel at Camden, Alabama. 2. As stated in the Notice, a showing of continuing interest is required before a channel will be allotted. It is the Comission's general policy to refrain from making allotments to a community absent an expression of interest. Therefore, since there has been no such interest here, we will dismiss Crawford’s proposal. 3. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, That the petition of Charles Crawford, proposing the allotment of Channel 280A to Camden, Alabama, IS HEREBY DISMISSED. 4. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That this proceeding IS TERMINATED. 5. For further information concerning this proceeding, contact Kathleen Scheuerle, Mass Media Bureau, (202) 418-2180.
