In response to a petition filed by Phoenix Media Group, Inc., ("Phoenix"), the Commission has before it for consideration the Notice of Proposed Rule Making, released June 16, 1997, seeking the allotment of Channel 235A to Lake City, Minnesota, as that community's second local broadcast service. Phoenix filed comments reiterating its intention to apply for Channel 235A at Lake City. No other comments were received at the Commission in response to this proposal. 2. We believe the public interest would be served by allotting Channel 235A at Lake City, Minnesota, since it will provide the community with additional local service. As indicated in the Notice, Channel 235A can be allotted to Lake City in compliance with the Commission's minimum distance separation requirements provided there is site restriction 10.6 kilometers (6.6 miles) southwest of the community. The site restriction will prevent a conflict with Station WQRB, Channel 236C3, Bloomer, Wisconsin. 3. Accordingly, pursuant to the authority contained in Sections 4(i), 5(c)(1), 303(g) and (r) and 307(b) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, and Sections 0.61, 0.204(b) and 0.283 of the Commission's Rules, IT IS ORDERED, That effective November 3, 1997, the FM Table of Allotments, Section 73.202(b) of the Commission's Rules, IS AMENDED for the community listed below, as follows: Community Channel Number Lake City, Minnesota 235A, 273C3 4. The window period for filing applications for Channel 235A at Lake City, Minnesota, will open on November 3, 1997, and close on December 4, 1997. 5. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That this proceeding IS TERMINATED. 6. For further information concerning this proceeding, contact Kathleen Scheuerle, Mass Media Bureau, (202) 418-2180.
