        1.  The Commission considers herein the Notice of Proposed Rule
  Making, 9 FCC Rcd 3273 (1994), issued in response to a petition filed
  by R. J. Miller ("petitioner") proposing the allotment of Channel
  244A to Pine Hill, Alabama, as that community's first local aural
  transmission service.  Petitioner filed comments in support of the
  proposal.  No other comments were received.
  
        2.  We believe the public interest would be served by allotting
  Channel 244A to Pine Hill, Alabama, since it could provide a first
  local aural transmission service to the community.
  
                        Engineering Analysis   
  
        3.  As indicated in the Notice, Channel 244A can be allotted to
  Pine Hill consistent with the minimum distance separation
  requirements of Section 73.207(b)(1) of the Commission's Rules,
  provided the transmitter is located at least 6.2 kilometers (3.9
  miles) northwest of the community at coordinates North Latitude 32-
  01-38 and West Longitude 87-37-23.  The site restriction is necessary
  to avoid a short-spacing to the authorized site of Station WJUS(FM),
  Channel 243C, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, at coordinates North
  Latitude 30-45-04 and West Longitude 86-42-38. 
  
        4.  Accordingly, pursuant to the authority contained in       
  Sections 4(i), 5(c)(1), 303(g) and (r) and 307(b) of the
  Communications Act of 1934, as amended, and Sections 0.61, 0.204(b)
  and 0.283 of the Commission's Rules, IT IS ORDERED, That effective    
                , 1995, the FM Table of Allotments, Section 73.202(b)
  of the Commission's Rules, IS AMENDED to include Pine Hill, Alabama,
  as follows:

        5.  IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That this proceeding IS TERMINATED.
  
        6.  The window period for filing applications for Channel 244A
