The Commission has before it for consideration the Notice of Proposed Rule Making, 9 FCC Rcd 6771 (1994), issued in response to a petition filed by Steven V. Beilfuss ("petitioner"). The Notice proposed the allotment of Channel 247A to Reed City, Michigan, as that community's first local broadcast service. Petitioner filed comments reaffirming his interest in the allotment of Channel 247A at Reed City. No other comments were received. 2. We believe the public interest would be served by allotting Channel 247A to Reed City, Michigan, as it will provide the community with its first local transmission service. Channel 247A can be allotted to Reed City consistent with the minimum distance separation requirements of the Commission's Rules provided there is a site restriction 1.9 kilometers (1.2 miles) southwest of the community. Since Reed City is located within 320 kilometers (200 miles) of the U.S.-Canadian border, concurrence of the Canadian government has been obtained for this allotment. 3. Accordingly, pursuant to the authority contained in Sections 4(i), 5(c)(1), 303(g) and (r) and 307(b) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, and Sections 0.61, 0.204(b) and 0.283 of the Commission's Rules, IT IS ORDERED, That effective April 10, 1995, the FM Table of Allotments, Section 73.202(b) of the Commission's Rules, IS AMENDED for the community listed below, to read as follows: Community Channel No. Reed City, Michigan 247A 4. The window period for filing applications for Channel 247A at Reed City will open on April 10, 1995, and close on May 11, 1995. 5. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That this proceeding IS TERMINATED. 6.
