By the Acting Chief, Allocations Branch:

          1.  The Commission has before it for consideration the Notice of
Proposed Rule Making, 9 FCC Rcd 9 FCC Rcd 5752 (1994), proposing the allotment
of Channel 226A to Hermitage, Missouri, as that community's first local
service.  The Notice was issued in response to a petition filed by KYOO
Broadcasting Company ("petitioner").  Petitioner filed initial comments
withdrawing its petition for rule making.  No other comments were received.

          2.  As stated in the appendix to the Notice, a showing of continuing
interest is required before a channel will be allotted.  It is the
Commission's general policy to refrain from making a new allotment to a
community absent an expression of interest.  Therefore, since there has been
no such interest here, we will dismiss the petitioner's proposal.

          3.  Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, That the petition of KYOO
Broadcasting Company, requesting the allotment of Channel 226A to Hermitage,
Missouri, IS HEREBY DISMISSED.

          4.  IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That this proceeding IS TERMINATED.
