Today, the Federal Communications Commision's Mass Media Bureau issued the first DTV construction permit to KITV Argyle Television, Inc.'s station KHVO(TV), Channel 13 in Hilo, Hawaii. The construction permit application, for DTV operation on Channel 18, was granted within two days of its receipt by the Bureau.

Further, the applicant stated that the DTV station's proposed operation would comply with the Commission's RF radiation and environmental requirements. KITV Argyle Television, Inc., also confirmed that it had a registered or an FAA approved tower site.
