From: JIM BREEDEN <75066.770@compuserve.com> To: FCC Date: 11/28/95 12:11am Subject: TELEVISION REGULATION Dear Sir: We strongly support regulations for television licensing renewal based on the the following: - providing non-violent, decent educational programming (10 hours per week during "child" hours.) - producing and airing community service ads and announcements - limiting violent and sexually explicit programming after school, on Saturday mornings and between 7 and 9 P.M. Television needs to be teaching our children life-giving values such as: - honesty - patience - compassion - responsibility - integrity - self-discipline, etc. Television has become a primary educator of our children. It must take responsibility for its actions and for the consequences of its programming on our society. We disagree with Richard Cotton, NBC's chief counsel when he says, "We... should not want the government to be the arbiter of what's on T.V. " No one else has that ability and the medium has been raising our children too long on a diet of materialism, promiscuity and violence. Please consider seriously making these requirements mandatory for license renewals. Sincerely, Dr. and Mrs. James Breeden 1775 Chaparral Carson City, NV 89703 Compuserve e-mail James Breeden 75066,770
