As a parent, a library worker, and a citizen, I am horribly ashamed of what this country calls television for children. The networks should be required, in exchange for their license to use our airwaves, to provide a reasonable amount (at least an hour or two a day) of NONCOMMERCIAL television for children. This would have NO ADVERTISEMENTS--not even ads for other TV shows. In addition, the shows themselves should be noncommercial-- no shows based on toys.
