From: To: A16.A16(kidstv) Date: 9/11/95 5:09pm Subject: US News & World Report article To Whom It May Concern: I do believe that much of what we see on TV in evening hours is inappropriate for young ones. While I, at age 47, may think it is humorous, I can choose what and when I watch. Many kids and their parents, however, do not screen what is on and the kids often will watch anything. I favor some more responsible programming but the "V-chip" seems inherently problemmatic. First, what about the millions of existing sets that are not equipped? I also think that this is not a problem for which a technological solution will work. It is a social problem which begs for a social solution. I do wish there were more programs like Beakman's World and Bill Nye - The Science Guy which make learning about science fun and captivate audiences of all ages. I watch these shows with my 14 and 18 year olds. Thanks, Ed Mehollin
