USSB II, a wholly-owned subsidiary of United States Satellite Broadcasting Company, Inc. (USSB), has surrendered its western channel assignment at the 148ø W.L. orbital location. 2. USSB was granted a construction permit to construct a Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) system in 1982. CBS, Inc., 92 FCC2d 64 (1982). In 1985, USSB was authorized to construct and launch a satellite to provide eight channels of DBS service from the 148ø W.L. orbital location. RCA American Communications, Inc., Mimeo No. 7115 (1985). In 1994, USSB was authorized to assign its construction permit for its assigned channels at 148ø W.L. to USSB II. See letter from Thomas S. USSB II voluntarily surrendered its assigned channels at the 148ø W.L. location on June 23, 1998 in a letter to Regina M. Keeney, Chief, International Bureau from Marvin Rosenberg, Counsel for and Assistant Secretary of USSB II. Accordingly, the construction permit for those channels is hereby cancelled.
