NEWS May 2, 1997 KELLY CAMERON NAMED SENIOR LEGAL ADVISOR FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADE POLICY OF THE INTERNATIONAL BUREAU The FCC announced today that Kelly Cameron has been promoted to Senior Legal Advisor for International Trade Policy of the International Bureau. In this position, Cameron will advise the Bureau Chief on matters related to the implementation of the recent WTO Basic Telecommunications Agreement and future telecom trade initiatives. Cameron has served the Federal Communications Commission in a variety of positions since 1983. Since the creation of the International Bureau in October, 1994, Cameron has been a senior attorney in the Bureau's Telecommunications Division and was the primary FCC negotiator in the World Trade Organization's Group on Basic Telecommunications (GBT). In the Commission's Common Carrier Bureau, he participated in the development and implementation of policies governing cellular telecommunications systems, Personal Communications Services, telecommunications rate regulation, interconnection services, and international telecommunications, among others. From 1993-1994, Cameron was legal assistant to the Chief of the Common Carrier Bureau. Cameron received his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Tufts University in 1980. In 1983, he received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC Cameron lives in Washington, DC with his wife, Theresa Cameron, and their son James. -FCC-
