FCC Chairman William E. Kennard will open the Forum and introduce the speakers, who represent Government, medical and health care providers, other spectrum users, and equipment manufacturers. In particular, members of the Medical Telemetry Task Force of the American Hospital Association will discuss the definition of "medical telemetry," the parameters driving the need to allocate spectrum for medical telemetry, the need for education of the healthcare community, and bandwidth requirements for medical telemetry equipment. Members of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will discuss spectrum needs from the point of view of Government use, members of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the Land Mobile Communications Council (LMCC) will speak about telemetry as it affects broadcast and land mobile use, and a spokesperson representing equipment manufacturers will address issues relating to their industry. A discussion period after these presentations will provide an opportunity for other interested parties to present their views.
