DA 95-2 Before the FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Washington, D.C. 20554 Amendment of Part 2 of the ) Commission's Rules to delete ) Footnote US243 and make ) editorial corrections to the Table ) of Frequency Allocations. ) ORDER Adopted: January 4, 1995 Released: January 9, 1995 By the Office of Engineering and Technology: 1. This Order amends and clarifies the Table of Frequency Allocations, Section 2.106 of the Commission's Rules by removing an obsolete United States footnote and correcting printing errors from previous Commission decisions. Specifically, we are deleting footnote US243. We are correcting the presentation of the land mobile allocation in the 220-222 MHz band, the amateur allocation in the 222-225 MHz band, and the text of International footnote 471. 2. Footnote US243 provides stations in the radiolocation service priority use of the 220-225 MHz band over other services until January 1, 1990. This date has passed, making the footnote obsolete. Therefore, to update our rules, we are deleting footnote US243 from the Table of Frequency Allocations. 3. The Commission allocated the 220-222 MHz band to the land mobile service on a primary basis and the 222-225 MHz band to the amateur service on a primary basis in GEN Docket No. 87-14. However, these allocations were printed incorrectly in the Code of Federal Regulations as secondary services. Therefore, we are correcting the Table of Frequency Allocations, Section 2.106, to correctly show the primary status of these allocations. 4. The Commission publishes all International Telecommunication Union (ITU) footnotes in the domestic table of frequency allocations for informational purposes. International footnote 471 (RR471) contains specific provisions pertaining to the use of the 490-495 kHz and 505-510 kHz bands. This footnote was adopted domestically in GEN Docket No. 80-739. However, in the printing of RR471 in the Rules, the mention of the 505-510 kHz band was inadvertently omitted. Therefore, we are also correcting the Table of Frequency Allocations to correctly show RR471. 5. This Order makes only minor technical amendments to the rules; no substantive changes have been made to the rules. Notice and comment are therefore unnecessary. See 5 U.S.C. 553(b)(B). Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, that pursuant to authority of 47 U.S.C. Section 154(i), 302, and 303, and pursuant to Section 0.231(d) of the Commission's Rules. Part 2 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations IS AMENDED as shown below. This amendment becomes EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Richard M.
