Re: NETWORK CHANGE SHORT TERM CERTIFICATION RECEIVED
     
     GTE  has filed certification that short term public notice of network change has been provided
through its publicly accessible Internet site, per 47 C.F.R.  51.329(a), together with certification
of service on identified interconnecting carriers, per Rule 51.333(a).  Upon initial review the
filing appears to be complete.  See 47 C.F.R. 51.325 through 51.335.   Specific network change

The incumbent LEC's certification refers to the changes identified below.  FCC file number
NCD97-349 is assigned for reference purposes.

     An objection to an incumbent LEC's short term notice may be filed by an information service
provider or telecommunication service provider that directly interconnects with the incumbent
LEC's network.  Such objections must be filed with the Commission, and served on the
incumbent LEC, no later than the ninth business day following the release of this public notice.
