                        BELL ATLANTIC FILES REVISED
                          COST ALLOCATION MANUAL

                          PUBLIC COMMENT INVITED

       On December 16, 1997, Bell Atlantic filed a revised Cost Allocation Manual (CAM)
for the separation of regulated and nonregulated costs.   The revised CAM  reflects the
recent merger of its operations with the NYNEX Telephone Companies.  The revised CAM
replaces the two individual CAMs of Bell Atlantic and NYNEX previously on file with the
Commission.

       Parties may file comments on Bell Atlantic's CAM no later than January 22, 1998. 
Replies should be filed by  February 6, 1998.  Comments should reference file number 
AAD 97-116.  A copy of each pleading should be sent to Colleen Nibbe, FCC Common
Carrier Bureau, 2000 L Street, N.W., Room 812, Washington, D.C.  20554 and the
International Transcription Service (ITS), 1231 20th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 
20036.  Copies are available for public inspection and copying in the Accounting and Audits
Division public reference room, 2000 L Street, N.W., Room 812, Washington, D.C.  Copies
