Washington, D.C. 20554 Released November 26, 1997 DA 97-2510 Extended Review Period for First Quarter Universal Service Contribution Factors CC Docket No: 96-45 On November 13, 1997, using information submitted by USAC, Schools and Libraries Corporation, and Rural Health Care Corporation, the Accounting and Audits Division announced the proposed universal service contribution factors for the first quarter of 1998. Pursuant to the Commission's rules, those contribution factors would be deemed approved on November 28, 1997 if the Commission took no action regarding the proposed contribution factors. In this Public Notice, the Accounting and Audits Division extends the period of time during which the Commission may modify the proposed universal service contribution factors for the first quarter of 1998. Accordingly, the time period during which the Commission may review the contribution factors and the basis for those figures is extended until December 5, 1997. If the Commission takes no further action regarding the contribution factors by December 5, 1997, the proposed contribution factors shall be deemed approved by the Commission. Once the proposed contribution factors are deemed approved by the Commission or are modified and approved in a subsequent Public Notice, USAC shall use the approved contribution factors to calculate and bill first quarter universal service contributions.
