                    GTE TELEPHONE OPERATING COMPANIES'

                                AND SPRINT

                          FILE REVISIONS TO THEIR

                          COST ALLOCATION MANUALS


       On October 1, 1997, the GTE Telephone Operating Companies' (GTE) filed revisions to
its Cost Allocation Manual (CAM) to reflect changes directed by the Commission in its Payphone
CAM Order, DA 97-1244 released June 13, 1997.  On September 30, 1997, Sprint filed revisions
to its CAM to quantify certain affiliate transaction changes required by the Commission's CAM
Accounting Safeguards Order, CC Docket No. 96-150. 

        Parties may file comments on the GTE and Sprint CAM revisions no later than
November 10, 1997.  Replies should be filed by November 24, 1997.  Comments should
reference file number AAD 97-105 for the GTE CAM revision and AAD 97-106 for the Sprint
CAM revision.  A copy of each pleading should be sent to Mark Stephens, FCC, Common
Carrier Bureau, 2000 L Street, N.W., Suite 812, Washington, D.C. 20554 and the International
Transcription Service (ITS), 1231 20th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036.  Copies are
