                      FILES REVISIONS TO ITS

                      COST ALLOCATION MANUAL


     On September 8, 1997, the Pacific Bell Telephone Company (Pacific) filed  revisions to its
Cost Allocation Manual (CAM) for the separation of regulated and nonregulated costs.  Pacific's
CAM revisions reflect the addition of incidental InterLATA services as a nonregulated activity. 
Pacific states it was authorized to provide these services pursuant to section 271(g) of the
Telecommunications Act of 1996.  Also, as directed by the Payphone CAM Order, DA 97-1244,
Pacific changes its cost pool for Account 5010, Public telephone revenue, to "Directly Assigned to
Nonregulated."

     Parties may file comments on the proposed revisions no later than October 20, 1997. 
Replies should be filed by November 4, 1997.  Comments should reference file number AAD 97-
102.  A copy of each pleading should be sent to Debbie Weber, FCC Common Carrier Bureau, 2000
L Street, N.W., Room 812, Washington, D.C.  20554 and the International Transcription Service
(ITS), 1231 20th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.  20036.  Copies are available for public inspection
