EST at the Federal Communications Commission, 1919 M Street, NW, Room 856, Washington, DC, NANC Chairman, Alan Hasselwander announced that Ms. Heather Burnett Gold will serve as Co-Chair to the Council. Chairman Hasselwander also welcomed the new National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) member to the Council, Colorado Public Utilities Commissioner, Vince Majkowski, and his alternate Bruce H. Armstrong. Commissioner Majkowski, and Mr. Armstrong are replacing former Commissioner Kenneth McClure, Missouri Public Service Commission and his alternate, Dr. Ben Childers. Ms. Gold represents the Association for Local Telecommunications Services (ALTS) on the Council and is a member of NANC's Steering Committee. As President of ALTS, Ms. Gold represents the interests of the ALTS members before the FCC, Congress, and other government agencies, and is working to expand opportunities for a fully competitive local telecommuni- cations market. Gold graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University with both B.A. and M.A. degrees in Economics. In addition, she holds a M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
