         Pacific Bell File Petition for Expedited Waiver
           of Section 36.380 of the Commission's Rules

     On June 13, 1997, Pacific Bell (Pacific) filed a Petition for Expedited Waiver of Section
36.380 of the Commission's rules.  Section 36.380, Other Billing and Collecting (OB&C) expense,
prescribes procedures carriers must use to allocate OB&C expenses between their state and interstate
operations.  

     Parties may file comments on the petition no later than July 29, 1997.   Replies should be
filed by August 13, 1997.  Comments should reference file number AAD 97-77.  A copy of each
pleading should be sent to Ernestine Creech, Accounting and Audits Division, Common Carrier
Bureau, 2000 L Street, N.W., Room 258J, Washington D.C. 20554 and the International
Transcription Service (ITS), Suite 140, 2100 M Street, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20037.  Copies are
available for public inspection and copying in the Accounting and Audits Division public reference
room 2000 L Street, N.W. Room 812, Washington, D.C. Copies are also available from ITS.
