$//Territory of Guam Petition. for Rulemaking//$ $/Sect. 1.401 et. seq.; DA 95-1359/$ "Record Only" RATE INTEGRATION FOR THE PROVISION OF COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES MAINLAND, HAWAII, ALASKA, PUERTO RICO/VIRGIN ISLANDS AND GUAM AAD 95-84 PUBLIC NOTICE DA 95-1359 Release Date: June 16, 1995 Comment Date: August 15, 1995 Reply Date: August 31, 1995 On May 12, 1995 the Governor's Office of the Territory of Guam filed a petition requesting that the Federal Communications Commission institute a rulemaking proceeding to integrate telecommunications rates among the United States Mainland, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands and the Territory of Guam. The Governor of Guam states that (i) integration of rates will significantly reduce the cost of interstate telephone service; and (ii) that the non-integrated rates currently paid by the people of Guam are unreasonably discriminatory under Section 202(a) of the Communications Act of 1934. Interested parties may file comments on this petition on or before August 15, 1995, and reply comments on or before August 31, 1995, with the Secretary, Federal Communications Commission, 1919 M Street, N.W., Room 222, Washington, D.C. 20554. Comments and reply comments should also reference AAD 95-84.
