In the Matter of ) ) Revisions to U S West, Inc.'s ) Cost Allocation Manual ) ASD No. 98-95 ) Motion for Extension of Time of ) U S West, Inc. ) ORDER Adopted: November 24, 1998 Released: November 24, 1998 By the Chief, Accounting Safeguards Division: 1. On November 20, 1998, U S West, Inc. ("U S West") requested an extension of time within which to file replies to the Division's Public Notice ("Notice") in the above-referenced proceeding. U S West requests a three-day extension of time to file its reply comments. In this Order we grant the request for extension of time. 2. The Commission released the Notice on November 12, 1998 establishing the comment and reply dates. Comments are due November 25, 1998; replies are due December 1, 1998. In support of its request for a three-day extension of the replies, U S West asserts that, since comments are due November 25, 1998, one day before the Thanksgiving Day holiday and reply comments are due December 1, 1998, that U S West would not likely receive the comments until November 30th which would leave U S West with only one day to prepare its reply comments. U S West states that one day would be inadequate to prepare a response. 3. The Commission does not routinely grant extensions of time. Nonetheless, we recognize that some additional time is warranted in this case and that no parties will be harmed by the additional time. Therefore, we will add three days to the reply date. Accordingly, replies will be due on December 4, 1998. 4. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, pursuant to Section 4(i) and 5(c) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. 154(i), 155(c), and Section 0.91, 0.291, and 1.46 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. 0.91, 0.291, 1.46, the motion for extension of time filed by U S West, Inc., IS GRANTED to the extent indicated above.
