On March 25, 1998, the Competitive Pricing Division of the Common Carrier Bureau (Bureau) released the 1998 Tariff Review Plans, which specify the summary material required of local exchange carriers (LECs) to support their interstate access service tariffs scheduled to take effect on July 1, 1998. Pursuant to Section 1.773 of the Commission's Rules, 47, C.F.R. 1.773, replies to petitions to reject or suspend and investigate those tariff filings are due on June 29, 1998. 2. After the filing of the replies, the Bureau will release an Order responsive to the petitions. That Order may require the LECs to revise their annual access filings, with such revisions to take effect on July 1, 1998. In order to give the LECs adequate time to implement any required revisions, and pursuant to Section 1.3 of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R. 1.3, on our own motion, we advance the due date for replies to petitions to reject or suspend and investigate 1998 annual access tariff filings to June 26, 1998. 3. In addition, because the Sprint Local Telephone Companies (Sprint) have been granted permission to file their 1998 annual access filing on June 19, 1998, we extend the due date for petitions to reject or suspend and investigate only Sprint's tariff to June 24, 1998. Replies to any petitions against Sprint's tariff will be due on June 26, 1998. 4. With respect to any LEC errata 1998 annual access filings to be made on June 19, 1998, we extend the due date for petitions to reject or suspend and investigate those tariff filings to June 24, 1998 with replies to any petitions against those filings to be due on June 26, 1998. 5. Finally, we remind those parties serving petitions and replies by facsimile to ensure that service is completed by 5:30 p.m. on the date those pleadings are due.
