On November 18, 1994, the Commission adopted the SNET Expanded Trial Order, which authorized SNET to offer video dialtone service to 150,000 homes in portions of Connecticut, subject to certain conditions and requirements. On March 28, 1995, the National Cable Television Association (NCTA) filed a motion to revoke that authorization. On January 25, 1996, SNET informed the Commission, by letter, that it "is withdrawing its plans to offer video dialtone (VDT) service . . . ." SNET stated that it was relinquishing its Section 214 authority "to construct, own and operate an expanded technical and marketing trial of VDT in limited areas of Connecticut." In addition, SNET has been conducting a technical video dialtone trial in West Hartford, Connecticut. In a letter dated February 14, 1996, SNET proposed to continue its video dialtone operations in West Hartford until May 1, 1996, at the latest, in order to conclude that trial in an orderly manner. SNET has relinquished its authorization to conduct an expanded video dialtone trial. Accordingly, NCTA's Motion to Order Revocation of Market Trial Authorization IS HEREBY DISMISSED AS MOOT.
