RCN AMENDS OPEN VIDEO SYSTEM CERTIFICATIONS TO UPDATE STATEMENTS OF
                           OWNERSHIP 


     RCN Telecom Services of Arizona, Inc., RCN Telecom Services of California, Inc., RCN Telecom
Services of California, Inc. d/b/a RCN of California, RCN Telecom Services of New Jersey, Inc., RCN
Telecom Services of Southeast New York, Inc., RCN Telecom Services of Philadelphia, Inc., and RCN
Telecom Services of Washington, Inc. (the "RCN Subsidiaries") have amended their Open Video System
certifications to update the statements of ownership in order to reflect a corporate restructuring.  The RCN
Subsidiaries will be merged into RCN Telecom Services of Pennsylvania, Inc. which in turn will be renamed
RCN Telecom Services, Inc. ("RCN-TS").  RCN-TS will hold the Open Video System certifications previously
held by the RCN Subsidiaries.
