 RCN TELECOM SERVICES OF NEW JERSEY, INC. FILES AN APPLICATION FOR OPEN
           VIDEO SYSTEM CERTIFICATION FOR NORTHERN NEW JERSEY


      Pursuant to 47 C.F.R.  76.1502, RCN Telecom Services of New Jersey, Inc. ("RCN") filed an
application for Open Video System certification on July 24, 1998.  Comments are due to be filed with the
Office of the Secretary and the Office of the Bureau Chief, Cable Services Bureau, on or before
Wednesday, July 29, 1998. Comments must be filed in accordance with the requirements set forth in 47
C.F.R.  76.1502(e).  RCN's application is available via the Internet:
