RCN TELECOM SERVICES OF CALIFORNIA, INC. d/b/a RCN OF CALIFORNIA FILES AN
             APPLICATION FOR OPEN VIDEO SYSTEM CERTIFICATION


      Pursuant to 47 C.F.R. 76.1502, RCN Telecom Services of California, Inc. d/b/a RCN of
California ("RCN-California") filed an application for Open Video System certification on June 5, 1998. 
Comments are due to be filed with the Office of the Secretary and the Office of the Bureau Chief, Cable
Services Bureau, on or before June 10, 1998.  Comments must be filed in accordance with the
requirements set forth in 47 C.F.R. 76.1502(e).  RCN-California's application is available via the Internet:
