                         RCN-BECOCOM, LLC FILES 
              OPEN VIDEO SYSTEM CERTIFICATION MODIFICATION


       On February 27, 1997, the Commission certified RCN-BECoCom, LLC, formerly RCN-BETG
("RCN"), to operate an open video system in the City of Boston, Massachusetts and 46 surrounding
communities, including the City of Somerville, Massachusetts.  On December 17, 1997, RCN filed a
letter informing the Commission that it entered into a cable franchise agreement with Somerville.  RCN
has elected to serve Somerville as a cable franchisee and withdraws its open video system certification
to serve Somerville.
