      WEDGEWOOD COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY FILES AN APPLICATION FOR OPEN
VIDEO SYSTEM CERTIFICATION

      Pursuant to 47 C.F.R.  76.1502, Wedgewood Communications Company of Chicago, Illinois
("Wedgewood"), filed an application for Open Video System certification on October 30, 1997. 
Comments are due to be filed with the Office of the Secretary and the Office of the Bureau Chief, Cable
Services Bureau, on or before November 4, 1997.  Comments must be filed in accordance with the
requirements set forth in 47 C.F.R.  1502(e).  Wedgewood's application is available via the Internet:
