 CABLE SERVICES BUREAU ANNOUNCES EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE REPLY
      COMMENTS IN THE PROPOSED RULEMAKING ON THE COMMERCIAL
                AVAILABILITY OF NAVIGATION DEVICES


     The Cable Services Bureau released an Order today extending for one week the period of
time for filing reply comments in The Matter of Implementation of Section 304 of the
Telecommunications Act of 1996, Commercial Availability of Navigation Devices, CS Docket No.
97-80.  The deadline for reply comments is extended from June 16, 1997 until June 23, 1997.

     By motion on May 27, 1997, Time Warner Entertainment Company, L.P. ("Time Warner")
requested additional time to file reply comments in this rulemaking proceeding.  Among other
reasons, Time Warner stated that an extension to file reply comments was warranted because copies
of many of the initial comments were not available to the public for almost a week after they were
filed on May 16,1997. No oppositions to this request were filed.

     For good cause shown, the Bureau is extending the deadline for filing reply comments to
June 23, 1997.
