     CABLE SERVICES ACTION                                  October 8, 1996



     Pursuant to 47 C.F.R.  76.1502, Bell Atlantic - New Jersey, Inc. ("BA-NJ") filed an
application for Open Video System certification on October 7, 1996.  Comments are due to be
filed with the Office of the Secretary and the Office of the Bureau Chief, Cable Services Bureau
on or before October 15, 1996.  BA-NJ's application is available via the Internet:
