PUBLIC NOTICE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION 1919 M STREET, N.W. WASHINGTON, D.C. 20554 News media information 202/418-0500. Recorded listing of releases and texts 202/632-0002. Report No. CS 96-2 CABLE SERVICES ACTION January 11, 1996 DA 96-11 Cable Services Bureau Announces Extension of Time to File Comments in Four Separate Proceedings By Public Notice released earlier today (DA 96-2), the Commission stated that any documents that were due to be filed with the Commission while it was closed will be due no later than 5:30 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 1996. The Cable Services Bureau has received a Motion for Extension of Time filed by Continental Cablevision, Inc., and Tele-Communications, Inc. requesting an extension until February 12, 1996 in order to file comments, and until March 12, 1996 to file reply comments, in response to Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Implementation of Sections of the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992 -- Rate Regulation, Uniform Rate- Setting Methodology, FCC 95-472 (released November 29, 1995). These cable operators request additional time to gather data from their cable systems which they believe is necessary to respond to the Commission's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. We believe this demonstrates good cause to grant the cable operators' motion, and therefore, comments will now be due February 12, 1996, and reply comments will now be due March 12, 1996. Further, in order to give interested parties sufficient time to obtain and respond to comments that may have been or may be filed in proceedings regarding cable services, the Cable Services Bureau will extend the period for filing reply comments in certain pending proceedings. The following are the affected proceedings, and the date on which reply comments are now due.
