Arkansas Cable Television Assoc.,) ) Complainants) ) v.)PA 97-005 ) Entergy Services, Inc.) ) Respondent.) ORDER Adopted: August 18, 1997Released: August 20, 1997 By the Deputy Chief, Cable Services Bureau: 1. In this Order, we address a Motion for Extension of Time to File Answer filed by Entergy Services, Inc. ("Respondent") on August 8, 1997. Respondent's lead counsel moves for an extension of time to August 22, 1997 within which to file its Answer in this proceeding. Counsel for the Associations ("Complainants") has consented to the requested extension. As discussed below, we grant the Motion. 2. Pursuant to Section 1.46 of the Commission's rules concerning extensions of time, Respondent requests that we extend the deadline for filing its Answer in this proceeding from August 8, 1997 to August 22, 1997. Counsel for the Respondent states that good cause exists for granting the requested extension because although Complainants filed their Complaint against Respondent on July 9, 1997, Counsel has only recently been retained to represent Respondent in this matter. 3.Although it is the policy of the Commission not to routinely grant extensions of time, we believe that the facts before us warrant granting Respondent's request. Complainants have already agreed to the extension of time and, therefore, we find that the extension will not impair Complainants' rights. We also find that an accurate and complete Answer can only result in a better informed decision by the Commission in all respects. 4.Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, pursuant to Section 1.46 of the Commission's rules, that the Motion for an Extension of Time to File an Answer filed by Entergy Services, Inc. IS GRANTED. 5.This action is taken pursuant to delegated authority under Section 0.321 of the Commission's Rules. FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION John E. Logan Deputy Chief, Cable Services Bureau
