On October 10, the Commission adopted an Order requiring certain operators to complete a price survey questionnaire designed to solicit information concerning rates for basic and cable programming services and equipment used to receive such services. The survey will assist the Commission in preparing a statistical report on average service and equipment rates charged by systems subject to effective competition and those that are not subject to effective competition. The current due date for responses to the survey is November 13, 1995. 2. On November 3, 1995, Jones Intercable, Inc. ("Jones") and Cox Communications, Inc. ("Cox") filed separate requests for an extension of the response deadline. They assert that they have encountered "administrative difficulties" in obtaining survey information from their various systems. Moreover, both operators have asserted that the budget review process has affected their ability to meet the current response deadline. Jones has requested an extension through December 13, 1995, and Cox has requested an extension through November 30, 1995. 3. We recognize that the coordination of survey responses can prove time consuming, particularly when response coordination involves systems of varying size and wide geographic diversity. We believe that the difficulties expressed in these extension requests may characterize difficulties encountered by other operators attempting to meet the current response due date. Accordingly, we will extend the response date from November 13, 1995 to December 15, 1995. 4. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, pursuant to Section 3 of the 1992 Cable Act (Section 623(k) of the Communications Act of 1934, 47 U.S.C. Section 543(k)), and Section 4(i) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. Section 154(i), that cable systems subject to the price survey requirements described herein shall complete and return the questionnaire by December 15, 1995.
